Harrison Microphone PreAmplifiers
Updated: May 17, 2005
Who says you can't improve on a good thing? Harrison's
microphone preamps have long been praised for their
transparency and dynamic range. Whether it's the Live
Performance console (LPC), Broadcast (TVDSL) or vintage
Harrison music consoles the mixers agree, they love those
preamps. Now they're remote-controlled and available in a
compact form factor.

Harrison
has announced a new, remote controlled companion preamp.
This new preamp takes on the form factor of other digital
products allowing the new mic pre's to share the same rack
frame and motherboard as Harrison's other premium I/O
components. Eight, transformer coupled preamps reside on a
single plug-in card. Each card is serially addressed from
the control surface providing remote control of the input
selection, gain, phantom power, 20dB pad and switch that
allows the input to accept a line level signal for
isolation.
A
selector switch provides three input choices for each
preamp. This too is remotely controlled. With three
selectable inputs the possibilities for integration into a
facility get very interesting. Dual mics on talent can be
switched between with the touch of a button and the levels
are already matched. Three different studios? A
single mic preamp card can accomodate 3 studios for a
significant cost and space savings.
The line
level analog output can be cabled to distant converters,
or just plug one of Harrison's A to D converter cards in
the same frame (56 channels on one card) for a MADI output. |
